Founder & CEO
Lee Howley
Lee founded Howley & Company in 1981 with the purpose of managing the corporate functions of various companies that he started with the assistance of a talented group of professionals in Ohio. Past business and civic experience includes a Panera Bread franchise on the east coast, developing cable TV systems in the U.S. and Europe, building a medical-related real estate company, representing the United States at the United Nations under President Clinton and Chairing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum. Lee’s biggest thrill is working with talented and caring people who know how to deliver exceptional customer service.

CFO
Adam Vanek
As Chief Financial Officer, Adam leads all financial functions for our clients. He recently marked 10 years with Howley & Company, rising from Financial Analyst to CFO through a track record of strong performance and leadership.
Adam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Baldwin Wallace University. He values the power of technology and has partnered closely with Lee Howley III to implement modern solutions that drive efficiency and improve client outcomes.
Before joining Howley & Company, Adam worked at a healthcare IT startup, where he learned to translate complex tech into actionable insights. He also spent over six years with a multi-unit smoothie franchisee, advancing from Shift Leader to District Manager while overseeing financial operations.
Outside the office, Adam enjoys time with his wife and three children, staying active in his church, and working through his ever-growing reading list.

VP of Administration
Leslie Pakush
Leslie oversees the design and construction of new builds and remodels for our clients which include Panera Bread Cafes and Sola Salons. She also oversees large maintenance projects. For over 35 years, Leslie has worked on the development and construction of many projects including sophisticated medical facilities and office buildings. During this time, she has also managed all aspects of the ongoing physical operation of these buildings. When she's not managing projects, Leslie enjoys traveling with her husband, visiting their children at college, and making the most of life with family and friends.

VP of IT
Lee Howley III
Lee (3) provides IT support for two Panera Bread, franchisees, a Sola Salon franchisee and Dave’s Hot chicken franchisees. He is also responsible for email and server maintenance at the corporate headquarters in Westlake, Ohio. He spearheaded the implementation of an HRIS system and has overseen multiple Panera technology rollouts that have increased manager efficiency and reduced the need for more manual entry of data. In addition to building our Howley & Company's customized reporting tool, Lee is implementing neural network driven predictive analytics for better sales forecasting. When not tinkering, he enjoys long bike rides through the Cleveland Metro Parks.

Controller
Robin Meermans
Robin provides leadership to all accounting functions. Accounting has been the career of choice over her entire work history, spanning business sectors including manufacturing, retail, entertainment, and public accounting. When not crunching the numbers, you can find her either at a slot machine in Vegas, outdoors working in her flower gardens, or just enjoying nature.

CPP - Payroll Manager
Terrie L. Gilland
Terrie oversees the Payroll department, located at the Ohio Support Center in Westlake, Ohio, which processed over 3,000 W-2 for our clients last year. A certified Payroll Professional since 2003, Terrie has been employed by Howley & Company since 2006. Her prior positions include HR/Payroll Supervisor for The Great Lakes Construction Company, Payroll Manager for Riddell Sports and Office Manager at The Cleveland Christian Home for Children. She currently serves as Volunteer Dog Rescuer, Crazy Dog Lady, Skilled and Accomplished Annoyer of her son, HGTV addict and Firefly/Serenity geek.

Payroll Assistant
Chrissy Smink
Chrissy is a graduate of Bryant & Stratton with a bachelor’s degree in Modern Office Training. Her prior positions were with a kidney dialysis billing company for 10 years, a payroll specialist with Riddell and a project manager with a telecommunications company. Chrissy’s hobbies include throwing darts in a league for the past 26 years, diamond art painting, and raising her son. Chrissy enjoys going to concerts, vacationing to warm destinations, slot machines, and enjoying time with friends and family.

Staff Accountant
Lindsey Broderick
Lindsey, the newest member of the team, handles accounts payable, vendor contact and onboarding, as well as café permits and licensing. After moving from Chicago to Northeast Ohio, she worked at Advanced Partners doing payroll before joining Howley Bread. Currently working towards her Accounting degree at Cleveland State University, Lindsey manages to juggle her time between her 3.5-year-old son and their dog, an American Boxer named Krumbley Sue. You can find them outside exploring the Metroparks, on bike rides, or frequenting Lakewood Park.

Staff Accountant
Mitchell McNamara
Mitchell joined Howley & Company with a double major in Accounting and Operations Management from the University of Colorado Boulder. He supports our clients by managing Accounts Payable, working closely with vendors to ensure invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. With prior experience in data analysis and financial operations, Mitchell brings strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to his work. Outside of the office, he’s an avid K-Pop fan, always keeping up with the latest music trends.

Senior Developer
Scott Hamper
Scott, Howley & Company’s lead developer, focuses on systems integration and automation. His work has led to considerable improvements in the accuracy and timely processing of sales, employee, and accounting data. He holds a bachelor’s in game design and development from the Rochester Institute of Technology. When not communing with cloud infrastructure, Scott can often be found putting the FUN in functional improvements to his home or his extensive knowledge of coding methodologies.
